Careers · Contract Ultrasound Technologist

Bring specialist ultrasound to the pets who need it.

Join the Solara team

Solara Pet Imaging brings ultrasound to veterinary clinics and to owners' homes across Palm Beach and Broward counties. We're looking for skilled small-animal sonographers who take pride in a great scan and a calm patient.

The work

You scan. A board-certified radiologist reads.

Every study is ordered by the pet's veterinarian and read by a board-certified veterinary radiologist (DACVR). You focus on the patient and the images; the report goes back to the referring vet.

Clinic days

Work through a partner clinic's patient list, one scheduled patient at a time, with the clinic's team on hand to help with positioning and larger dogs.

Home visits

Scan cats and small dogs (under 25 lb) in the comfort of their own home, where many anxious patients do best.

White-glove care

Explain the exam to the owner, confirm consent, keep the patient comfortable, and transmit a complete study. That's the job, done well.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is this a job or a contract role?

It's an independent contractor (1099) role. You're paid per exam by direct deposit and receive a 1099 at year end.

Do I interpret the studies?

No. You acquire and transmit the images. A board-certified veterinary radiologist (DACVR) reads every study, and the report goes to the referring veterinarian.

Will I scan large dogs at home?

No. Home visits are for cats and dogs under 25 lb. Larger patients are seen at the clinic, where the clinic's team can help.

How much do I work?

You tell us which days you're available. Clinic days and home visits are offered around that, and you can work alongside another job.

Do I need my own ultrasound machine?

No. Solara provides the equipment and supplies.
